'Torchbearers of Urban Twang' -New York Times

'Nations' expressive singing holds so much love, that even his sad songs sound a tiny bit joyous' -Time Out New York

'Flawlessly executed, their album, Tarheel Boogie takes its place alongside Hot Club of Cowtown's Dev'lish Mary as the tastiest slice of Americana served this year.' -Pop Matters

'It’s not enough, apparently, to be a great honky-tonk guitar player, consistently unleashing squeaky-clean flurries of Danelectro whoopass. No, Jimmy Nations has to go and be a good songwriter as well. Raised in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, Jimmy grew up on what he calls “sounds of the south”, and has since dragged them, rockin’ and wailin’, into a formidable big-city combo. Most tunes fall solidly in the upbeat, boogying Country and Western Swing vein, with a smiling nod to the ballads of the ‘50s and, of course, a healthy dose of Jimmy’s impeccable guitar playing.' -BrooklynCountry.com

I love Deliverance. A friend of mine from Boston says that all city people who come to the woods and find themselves alone at night somewhere dark can't help but hear the dueling banjos. I've also been watching a lot of old Star Trek episodes lately. lol. When I have my school payments figured out and my job situation situated I will definitely purchase one of your fine songs. Gotta say it will probably be Stool Hanging Drunk if I only take one although I do support music as much as possible. Its too bad The Rynborn closed down or I would try to get you in there. Did you ever hear of the club? We had Luther Guitar Junior Johnson as a regular spot for quite awhile. It is... ah... rumored that Ziggy Marley once sat at the bar for the good part of the night after closing and partook in some of his favorite herbal therapy. But there was all kinds of good stuff going on. It's sad to see a community lose interest in the arts.

You guys are really good. I'm not a fan of country western music at all. I do like traditional stuff like the O' Brother soundtrack. I also worked at New Englands former premier blues club, The Rynborn, and really learned about the blues there. Great p[lace and too bad its gone. But keep on keepin on guys.
